Watch what you drink – extra calories are lurking about

This time of year is so much fun!  There are so many wonderful indulgences from cookies, to candy, to holiday parties with wonderful snacks; it’s easy to get caught up in the madness and eat more than we plan!  One area that often gets overlooked are beverages, and I’m not talking about soda, coffee drinks and juices!  Whether you are usually a “drinker” or not, many of us tend it imbibe more than we normally would this time of year.  It’s easy to do when we’re caught up in the holiday spirit. If you are watching your calorie intake, you are probably mindful of all the obvious “danger foods” candy, cookies, and all those decadent snacks at the office holiday party. We’re here to remind you that alcoholic beverages aren’t “free” no matter how much we wish they were!  Alcoholic beverages, just like soda, can pack a punch and add up quickly, so be sure to drink your water.  Eat, drink, and be merry, just make sure you are keeping it all in moderation.  Here’s a great article that talks about how alcoholic beverages can add 100 calories a day to the average adult’s diet.
